Many people have heard of carbon dioxide’s negative effects on the environment, but the chemicals in old refrigerators (also known as HFC-134A) are 3400 times more potent than carbon dioxide. There are over 1.4 billion decommissioned refrigerators in the world that release their potent gasses into the atmosphere. We partnered with Tradewater because they are one of the only organizations dedicated to eradicating these harmful gasses.

 

Tradewater not only finds but destroys the most potent greenhouse gasses before they are released into the atmosphere. To date, they have eliminated the equivalent of 5,706,000 tons of CO2e. Preventing the emission of 3 million tons of greenhouse gasses annually, Tradewater’s work is all measured and verified by third-party auditors, resulting in high-quality carbon offset credits.
